Joy In Sorrow

One of my all time favourite film songs has been the gorgeous Sadhana singing,’Dukh aur sukh ke raste bane hai sab ke vaste, jo gam se haar jaoge so kis tarah nibhaoge…’ in Hum Dono. I knew it was written by Sahir Ludhianvi…yet the joy of discovering his original poem is something special.

Here’s to ‘Gam’! What joy in sorrow!

  1. Agree agree. To me it is not poetry in imagination but reality.

Viktor Frankl explains it is all in the meaning ( LOGOS ). When the meaning of sorrow is something else then Sorrow becomes joy.

Sorrow by itself has no meaning. So we have the power to make sorrow meaningful.
