hanumanjialways

Kahayi reechpati sunu Hanumana/ Ka chup saadhi rahehu balvana//

Pavan tanay bal pavan samana/ Buddhi bibek bigyan nidhana//

The king of bears Jambavan then spoke thus: ‘Listen, Hanuman! Why are you so silent?’

‘You are the son of the Wind God and equal to him in strength! You are the epitome of intelligence, wisdom and knowledge!’

Note: Due to a curse in his childhood (when he annoyed sages due to his great powers and naughtiness) Hanuman was supposed to be forgetful of his immense powers until he was reminded by somebody.

**

Kavan so kaaj kadin jag maahim/ Jo nahim hoyi taat tumh paahim//

Ram kaaj lagi tav avatara/ Sunatahim bhayavu parbatakara//

‘Is there any insurmountable task in this world,  that you cannot accomplish with ease?’

‘In fact your birth purpose is to carry out the assignment of Lord Ram!’ Hearing these words, Hanuman grew into the size of a mountain!

**

Kanak baran tan tej biraaja/ Manahu apar girinh kar raja//

Simhanaad kari barahim baara/ Leelahim naghavu jalanidhi khaara//

His hue was golden; his body’s radiance was mind boggling; he looked like another Sumeru-the king of mountains!

Hanuman let out a series of lion- like roars! He said, ‘Even as child’s play, I can cross this ocean easily!’

**

Sahit sahay Ravanahi maari/ Aanavu iham trikut upaari//

Jambavant mai poochavu tohi/Uchit sikhavanu deejahu mohi//

‘I can kill Ravan and all his followers, uproot Trikuta Mountain and bring it back here!’

‘Hey Jambavan! Tell me what I am supposed to do!’ (Please guide me!)

**

Etana karahu taat tumh jaayi/ Sitahi dekhi kahahu sudhi aayi//

Tab nij bhuj bal Rajeevanaina//Kautuk laagi sangh kapi sena//

(Jambavan said) ‘Hey son! Just go and see Sitaji, and return with her news.’

The lotus eyed Lord shall kill Ravan with his own hands and reclaim Janakiji. He is taking the monkey army with him as a part of his Leela.

**

Kapi sen sangh sanghari nisichar Ramu seetahi aanihaim/

Trailok paavan sujasu sur muni naradaadi Bakhanihaim//

Jo sunat gaavat kahat samuchat param pad nar paavai/

Raghubeer pad padhoj madhukar das tulsi gaavai//

With his monkey army, Ram shall kill the asuras and bring back Sitaji. Then all the sages like Narad and the Gods shall glorify the Lord; an act  which shall purify the three worlds. Hearing of which, singing of which, speaking of which, understanding of which, human kind shall attain the Lord’s abode. The honey bee buzzing around the lotus feet of Lord Ram, Tulsi Das sings the Lord’s praises.

**

Doha

Bhav bheshaj Raghunadh jasu sunahim je nar aru naari/

Tinh kar sakal manoradh siddh karahim Trisaraari//

Sri Ramji’s story is the single antidote to the disease of constant births and deaths.

Any man or woman hearing His story, shall have all their dreams fruitful by the blessings of the enemy of Khar (Lord Ram)

**

Nilolpal tan syam kam koti sobha adhik/

Suniya taasu gun gram jaasu naam agh khag badhik//

The divine Lord whose bluish hued body is as beautiful as a blue lotus, whose radiance is more than that of a thousand Kam Devas (The handsome God of Desire),

Whose Name is the predator of all the birds called mortal sins; one should hear about His glorious qualities.

**

Iti Sreemadramcharitmanase sakalkalikalushvidhwamsane chaturthah sopanah samaptah/

The Fourth Sopan of Sree Ramcharit Manas- which ends all the sins accrued in Kaliyug- ends here.

Sarparaj So Likat Abichal Pavani(31): As If The Serpent King Was Writing The Eternal And Holy Story

IMG_1471.JPG

The Lord’s army marches to Lanka( SundarKanda Continued)

*

Joyi joyi sagun Janakihi hoyi/asagun bhayavu Ravanahi soyi//

Chala kataku ko barnaim para/garjahim banar bhalu apara//

Whatever signs became auspicious for Sitaji became a prophesy of misfortune for Ravan

The army marched, who can put words to that sight, innumerable monkeys and bears were roaring majestically

*

Nakh ayudh giri padpadhary/chale gagan mahi icchachary//

Keharinath bhalu kapi karhim/dagmagahim diggaj chikkarahim//

The monkeys and bears, whose weapons were their claws and nails, some were travelling by air and some on earth, carrying trees and hills aloft

They were roaring like lions, and the elephants from various directions were trumpeting in  utter panic

*

Chikkarahim diggaj tol mahi giri lol sagar kharbhare/

Man harsh sabh gandarbh sur muni nag kinnar dukh tare//

Katkatahim markat bikat bhat bahu koti kotinh dhaavahim/

Jaya Ram prabal pratap Kosalnath gun gan gaavahim//

Elephants from all directions started trumpeting in panic, the earth started to vibrate, the mountains were petrified, the oceans rose in huge waves of distress

Gandarv, Devta, Muni, Nag, Kinnar- all were delighted that our agony will soon end (Ravan will be killed)

Crores of monkeys were thumping chests, and were running fastly

They were singing praises of SreeRamji- ‘May the Lord of Kosala, strong and majestic be ever victorious!’

*

Sahi sak na bhar udar ahipathy bar barahim mohayi/

Gah dasan puni puni kamad prisht kador so kimi sohayi//

Raghubeer ruchir prayan prasthithi jaani param suhavani/

Janu kamad kharpar Sarparaj so likhat abichal paavani//

Even the great and supreme Seshnagji could not bear the impact of the aggressive army, he is distressed often too

He bites tight  the rear of the Divine Turtle back often to keep his balance

The sight of the Naga King( biting again and again and drawing new lines on the rear of the turtle shell) is  so striking-as if he has recognised the wondrous journey of SReeRaghunathji and

The King of Serpents is writing with his fangs, the eternal and  holy story of SreeRamji’s march to victory, on the back of the turtle

*

Ehi bidhi jaayi kripanidhi utare sagar teer/

Jah tah laage khan bhal bhalu bipul kapi beer//

In this manner, Kripanidhi( The Seating Place of Compassion, The Treasury of Compassion) SreeRamChandraji reached the shores of the ocean

The vast number of valiant monkey and bear warriors started eating fruits therein

Sab Prakar Prabhu Poorankama(24): The Lord Is Completely Desireless

IMG_1455.JPG

Ta kar doot anahl jehim sirija/ jara na so tehi karan Girija//

Ulty palty Lanka sab jaary/koodi para puni sindhu machaary//

( Lord Shiv says), Hey Girija! Hanuman is the messenger of The One who has created Fire, hence he has not been burnt by it himself

Hanumanji leapt from one end to the other and burnt Lanka down, then he jumped into the ocean

*

Doha: Poonch buchaayi khoyi shram dhari laghu roop baghori/

Janaksuta kem aagem daadh bhayavu kar jori//

Having doused the fire in his tail, and taking a little rest, Hanumanji assumed his small form again

And appeared before Janakiji with folded hands

*

Matu mohi deeje kacchu cheenha/jaisem Raghunayak mohi deenha//

Choodamani utari tab dayavu/harash samet Pavansut layavu//

(He said) Mother! Please give me an object of identification, like what SreeRamji had given me

Sitaji removed  Choodamani from her head and gave it to Hanumanji, who took it with utmost joy

( Choodamani: head ornament, studded with jewels)

*

Kahehu Tat as mor pranaama/sab prakar Prabhutai poorankaama//

Deen Dayal biridhu sambhary/harahu nadh mam sankat bhary//

(Sitaji said) Hey Son! Offer him my greetings and then tell him-Hey Lord! Though You are beyond any desires( poornakaam),

You are bound by compassion to those who grieve,( and I am grieving),so, please be compassionate and remove this intense grief of mine

*

Tat sakrasut katha sunayehu/baan pratap prabhuhi samuchayehu//

Maas diwas mahu nadhu na aava/tau puni mohi jiat nahim paava//

Hey Son! Tell him the story of Jayant( son of Indra) and remind him of the strength of his arrow

If the Lord does not arrive in a month’s time, he would not be able to save me

(At Chitrakoot, when a tired SreeRamji was resting on Sitaji’s lap, Jayanta had harassed her in the form of a crow by pecking at her. The Lord had woken up and been enraged at the sight, and had pulled up a grass blade and send it forth as Brahmastra- the crow had flown across the  multiple worlds seeking refuge but finally ended up at SreeRamji’s feet. Since the Brahmastra could not be withdrawn, SreeRamji on Jayanta’s request had allowed it to blind his left eye. This incident was known only to the couple.)

*

Kahu kapi kehi bidhi rakaum praana/ tumhahu Tat kahat ab jaana//

Tohi dekhi seetali bhai chaathi/puni mo kahu soyi dinu so rathi//

Hey Hanuman! Tell me, how do I keep on living? Now, you too are  speaking of leaving, Son!

Seeing you my forehead had cooled down( I was feeling better), Now again ( I have to face ) those relentless days and nights

*

Doha:

Janaksutahi samuchayi kari bahu bidhi dheeraj deenh/

Charan kamal siru nayi kapi gavanu Ram pahim keenh//

Hanumanj consoled Sitaji and tried to boost up her courage using many examples

Then he bowed his head at her lotus feet and took leave to join SreeRamji.

*

Bhai Sahay Sarad Mai Jaana (23): I know that Goddess Sarada Has Helped

img_1454

Hanumanji burns Lanka ( SundarKanda continued)

*

Bachan sunat kapi man musukaana/ bhai sahay sarad mai jaana//

Jatudhan suni Ravan bachana/ lagai rachaim moodh soyi rachna//

Hearing Ravan’s suggestion, Hanumanji started laughing to himself ( in his mind) and started thinking, Devi Sarada has definitely helped ( The Goddess rules over words, speech, learning, intelligence: She has influenced Ravan’s mind)

The Rakshasas, foolishly ran to fulfill Ravan’s command by starting preparations ( for setting fire to his tail)

*

Raha na nagar basan khrit tela/ badhi poonch keenh kapi khela//

Kautuk kah aaye purbaasy/ maarahim charan karahim bahu haasy//

The amounts of cloth, ghee and oil needed were so much that the city ran short of these very soon, Hanumanji  was playing a game by increasing the size of his tail

The citizens arrived to watch the fun, they kicked Hanumanji and laughed out in mockery

*

Baajahim dhol dehim sab taari/ nagar pheri puni poonch prajaari//

Pavak jarath dekhi Hanumantha/bhayavu param laghuroop turantha//

The drums were being beaten, every one was applauding, they took Hanumanji around the city and then set fire to his tail

Seeing the fire, Hanumanji quickly assumed a very tiny form

*

Nibuki chadevu kapi kanak atarim/bhayim sabheet nisachar naarim//

Escaping from bondage, he jumped up on to a golden rooftop, seeing him the Rakshasa women got terrified

*

Doha:

Hari prerit tehi avasar chale marut unchaas/

Attahas kari garja kapi badi laag akaas//

At that instant, due to the Lord’s will, fortynine winds ( of great force) started blowing

Hanumanji gave out a ferocious roar, and grew to the size of the skies

*

Deh bisaal param haruaayi/ Mandir tem mandir chad dhayi//

Jarai nagar bha log bihaala/ chapat lapat bahu koti karaala//

His body was gigantic but light and agile, he ran from one house to another

The city was burning, people were running helter skelter, the tongues of fire, crores in number were consuming everything

*

Tat Matu ha suniya pukara/ ehim avasar ko hamahi ubara//

Hum jo kaha yeh kapi nahim hoyi/ banar roop dharem sur koyi//

‘Oh My Father! Oh My Mother! Who will protect me now?’From all four sides, these cries were heard

( Rakshasas were crying) ‘ I had told even then that this is no ordinary monkey, but a Deva in disguise!’

*

Sadhu avagya kar bhalu aisa/jarai nagar anadh kar jaisa//

Jaara nagaru nimishi ek mahim/ek Bibheeshan kar grih nahim//

As a result of humiliating a holy soul , the city was burning like an orphaned one

In one second, Hanumanji had burnt the whole city down, except Bibheeshan’s home

*

Pranathpal Raghunayak Karuna Sindhu Kharari(20): The Foe of Khar, Is An Ocean of Compassion,Caregiver to Refugees

img_1428

Hanumanji speaks to Ravan( SundarKanda continued)

*

Janavu mai tumhari prabhutai/Sahasabahu san pari larai//

Samar Bali san kari jasu paava/suni kapi bachan bihasi Biharava//

I know very well about your glory, you had fought with Sahasrabahu and Bali- increasing your fame in both encounters

Note: ( Hanumanji is mocking Ravan because Sahasrabahu aka Kartvirya Arjun had defeated Ravan and put in him prison, while Bali had tied him up in his tail and travelled three oceans with Ravan dangling at the end of his tail. Ravan’s defeat at the hands of these two heroic Kings was infamous. Also, Kartvirya Arjun was killed by Parasu Ram and Bali by SreeRam- both divine avatars of the Lord Vishnu. It is a mockery with a hint within it!)

Hearing the ironical words, Ravan laughed and try to evade the issue

*

Khayavu bhal laagy bhukha/kapi subhav tem torevu rukha//

Sab kem deh param priya swami/maarahi moh kumarga gaami//

Hey Lord Of the Rakshasas! I was feeling hungry and so I ate the fruits, due to my innate monkey nature, I uprooted the trees

Hey Ruler of the Rakshasas! Everyone loves their body, when the wicked Rakshasas ( those who tread the wrong path- kumarg) started hurting me-

*

Jinh mohi maara, te maim maare /tehi par badheyu tanay  tumhare//

Mohi na kacchu bandhe kayi laaja /keenh chahavu nij prabhu kar kaaja//

Then I killed those who were hurting me, your son bound me down

I do not feel any embarasment at that, I wish to carry out the task assigned by My Lord

*

Binthy karavu jori kar Ravan/sunahu maan taji mor sikhavan//

Dekhavu tumh nij kulhi bichary/bhram taji bhajahu Bhagat bhay hary//

Hey Ravan! I am beseeching you with folded hands, You please let go of your ego and listen to my advice

Remember the glorious clan of yours, and giving up the befuddlement( confusion of ego) meditate on the Lord who conquers all fears of His devotees

Note: ( Ravan was a great Shiv Bhakt. Hanumanji is asking him to go back to that state of mind and recognise the truth of SreeRamji’s avatar)

*

Jaakem dar athi Kal derai/jo Sur Asur Charachar khayi//

Tasom bhayaru kabahum nahim keejai/ more kahem Janaki deejai//

The God of Death(Kal aka Time Lord) of whom Gods, Asurs, all living and dead are scared of( who consumes Devas, Asurs, All things animate and inanimate),  the One of whom Kal himself is petrified of-(Death itself is scared of My Lord)

Do not make an enemy of Him, listen to me and hand over Janakiji

*

Doha:

Pranathpal Raghunayak karuna sindhu kharari/

Gayem saran Prabhu rakhihaim tav aparadh bisari//

The Lord who is the foe of Khar ( Ravan’s brother who died in fighting Sree Ramji), SreeRagunathji is an ocean of compassion and a saviour to those who seek his refuge

If you seek His protection, He will definitely forgive you and keep you under his care

*

Kapi bandhan suni nisichar dhaye/kautuk laagi sabham sab aye//

Dasmukh sabha deekhi kapi jaayi/kahi na jaayi kacchu athi prabhutaayi//

Hearing that the monkey has been caught, the Rakshasas ran to the Court to watch the fun

Hanumanji observed the royal court of Ravan, the resplendence was something beyond description

*

Kar jorem sur Disip bineetha/bhukuti bilokath sakal sabheetha//

Dekhi pratap na kapi man sanka/ jimi ahigan mahu Garud asanka//

The Devas and the Dikpals( Devas who guard the ten corners – Indra, Agni,  Nakshatra, Brahma, Vayu, Ananta, Yama, Varuna, Kubera, Esha) were all standing terror struck, paying obeisance to Ravan, watching his ever changing moods

Even on seeing such majesty, not a sliver of fear entered Hanumanji’s mind, he stood there indifferent and fearless as if Garuda( Vishnuji’s  divine vehicle and  Lord of Eagles, the sworn foe of serpents) was standing amidst a group of snakes

*

Doha:

Kapihi biloki Dasanan bihasa kahi durbaad/

Suth badh surati keenhi puni upaja hridayam bishaad//

*

Jaakem bal biranchi Hari Eesa/palath srijath harath Dasseesa//

Ja bal sees dharath Sahsaanan/Andakos samet giri kaanan//

On whose strength, SeshNag ( The thousand hooded one) carries all the forests and mountains and multiple Universes on his head

*

*

Doha:

Kacchu maresy kacchu mardesy kacchu milayesy dhari dhuri/

Kacchu puni jayi pukare Prabhu markat bal bhuri//

Hanumanji killed some of the warriors, some he crushed, and some he caught and smashed them on the ground( mixed them with dust)

Some escaped and ran to Ravan crying, Hey Lord! The monkey is extraordinarily strong

*

Suni suth badh Lankes risana/padayesy Meghnath balvana//

Marasi jani suth bandhesu tahi/dekhia kapihi kahan kar aahi//

Ravan was furious to hear about the death of his son, he then asked his eldest son Meghnath the great warrior to lead the army

(He said) Hey Son! Do not kill him, bind him down, I want to find out where this monkey is from

*

Chala  Indrajeet atulit jodha/ bandhu nidhan suni upaja krodha//

Kapi dekha darun bhat aava/katkatai garja aru dhava//
